Discover is one of the largest credit card issuers in the world. Discover does not have as many types of credit cards as some of the other credit card companies and they do not need to. Discover specializes in having a couple of great credit cards which will be able to suit any of your needs. Most of the credit cards they have all come with the same terms just with different features.
Some of the types of credit cards Discover has a airline mile credit card. This credit card is ideal for the person who is a big traveler or prefers to save up their rewards for that annual trip. The program they have is nice because there are no black out dates. Its nice working with a bank instead of an airline because you do not have as many restrictions. You are a simple call customer service call away from redeeming them at any time.
For the person who likes to get rewards for buying gas, Discover does have a gas rewards card too. You will earn the majority of rewards from when you purchase fuel at gas stations and a smaller reward back from when you purchase things any place else. If you put a ton of miles on your car every year then this would be the card for you.
Discover also has a credit card which pays you back the interest you would have been charged for paying on time. This can add up pretty quickly for you. As long as you are paying your minimum payment on time every month then you have nothing to worry about. If you pay the whole balance off you are getting paid free money for doing what they want you to do. It always makes sense to pay the whole balance off if you can.
One of the popular credit cards Discover has is a credit card which offers you a lower percent on your rewards but lets you earn the same on all of your purchases with a cash back reward. This card usually makes the most sense for people because usually your purchases are going to be spread out amongst gas stations, grocery stores, and retailers. This way you can still earn great cash back rewards and not feel like you are cornering yourself to one particular type of reward.
Discover has credit cards for business owners small or large. Earn big rewards at places where you buy your office supplies. They even have a credit card for airline miles.
Pretty much all of the credit cards from Discover come with all of the same terms. Most of them offer you a 0% interest rate on purchases for the first year and a 0% interest rate on balance transfers for the first 9 months. Your rewards will continue to accrue as long as you keep your account active over an 18 month time period. You also cannot have two months were you make a late minimum payment. If you do either of those your rewards will be forfeited. Pay on time and use your credit card and you will be ok. After your introductory interest rate period it will turn into a fixed or variable rate based on what card you have. The interest rate will be determined by what your credit score is at the time.
Discover is not known as one of the big credit card companies and maybe this has helped them out during the recent financial crisis. For the most part, Discover focuses most of their business on credit cards. You will see that they have a online bank and do offer other financial services like 401k’s, IRA’s, student loans, and even home loans.
You cannot go wrong having a Discover Credit Card. They are a major credit card company with good history of providing excellent credit cards. You will be able to find the right credit card for your needs from Discover.
